We zijn weer vroeg uit de veren en starten de dag rustig. Jose koopt bij de bakker een stokbrood en het ontbijt is weer een feest. Om half 11 vertrekken we naar Pula. Een van de hoogtepunten van Istrie. Na een binnenweg komen we op de snelweg. We moeten 34 Kuna (4,5 euro) tol betalen maar het rijdt erg rustig. Geen kip op de weg en met de cruise control op 110 km per uur zoeven we door het Kroatische landschap. Ik heb de route in geprogrammeerd naar de Riva boulevard.<\/p>\n

$\"P1060886\"$ <\/a>Hier kun je volgens de Marco Polo gids parkeren. Er zijn inderdaad perkeerplaatsten maar deze zijn allemaal bezet. We rijden een rondje door de stad en besluiten richting de supermarkten te rijden. 1 kilometer buiten het centrum vinden we een gratis parkeerplaats. We lopen naar de Arena. Dit is het enig Romeinse amfitheater dat nog 4 torens heeft. Het hoort tot de 6 grootste overgebleven Romeinse arena\u2019s.<\/p>\n

$\"P1060905\"$ <\/a>We lopen naar het centrum en strijken neer op een terras. Tijd voor een kop koffie. Dan lopen we door de smalle Romeinse straatjes. Her zijn veel terrasjes, Italiaanse restaurants en winkeltjes. De triomfboog is ontzettend mooi. Het is hier net een open luchtmuseum. Als we de ronde gemaakt hebben, lopen we naar het straatje waar je naar boven richting het fort, het klein theater en het archeologisch museum gaat. Boven op de heuvel heb je een prachtig uitzicht over de stad, haven en achterland.<\/p>\n

$\"P1060897\"$ <\/a>Een raar gezicht die Romainse Arena tussen de moderne huizen. Tijd voor de inwendige mens en we zoeken een restaurant op . Jose bestelt een pizza en ik een tonijnsalade. We drinken er allebei een halve liter bier bij. We wandelen terug naar de auto en doen bij de Lidl nog wat boodschappen. We rijden op ons gemak terug naar de camping waar we tegen 5 uur aankomen.
